Bulletguy
From The Torygraph How Europe is pulling ahead of Britain in the great Covid race We had a head start but as summer fades........ Europe joined the vaccine race late, but the pace at which jabs have been going into arms in recent months has been staggering. France is now fractionally ahead of us on single jabs, while Finland, Denmark, Ireland, Spain and Portugal now all have a significantly greater proportion of their citizens fully vaccinated. “The EU has kept its word and delivered,” Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, noted recently. “The catch-up process has been very successful.” Europe has also been quicker to start vaccinating its teenagers. In France, Spain and Italy, more than half of those aged 12 to 18 are already vaccinated, for example Critics worry that the British Covid racing car has been stripped back too far. We have a tank full of vaccine and a handbrake called lockdown, but that’s about it. “Maybe the Prime Minister will get lucky, and vaccines will be enough,” noted The Telegraph’s economic commentator Jeremy Warner last week. “It’s just that it would be so much more reassuring if there was a credible Plan B. The economy cannot take another lockdown.” Sir Jeremy Farrar, director of the Wellcome Trust and a member of Sage said,“The pandemic is not going away. There will be “high transmission, infections, illness, deaths. What balance and trade-offs are we willing to accept?” “What adjustments in behaviour and what amount of illness, hospitalisations and, tragically, deaths are we willing to accept as a society?” Israel has already started giving third booster jabs to overcome the perceived problem, and in Europe more than 10 countries have announced similar plans, including France, Belgium, Germany, Sweden and Ireland. In the UK, a booster programme remains on the cards, but details have yet to be announced, with the UK’s mix of vaccines perhaps making the final call more difficult. Israel has only used the Pfizer jab, for instance. Data from the Office for National Statistics show UK Covid infection rates - at about one in 70 of the population - are near record highs and among the worst in Europe. Also, new hospital admissions are running at over 900 a day, eight times higher than at the same point last year. Nearly 7,000 people are now in hospital with Covid in the UK and deaths are clocking up at some pace again, with 756 recorded in the last week alone. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/global-health/science-and-disease/europe-pulling-ahead-britain-great-covid-race/

None of what you've posted is relevant to the thread topic and opening post and it's obvious you never read any of it beyond the header which you don't like. The thread topic is about vaccination rates, jabs in arms, in Europe which is now ahead of UK.....and that's what you don't like so tried to change the subject as usual. *-) European countries have also been quicker than UK in vaccinating teenagers and more than half 12-18 year olds in France, Spain and Italy are already vaccinated. Israel has already started giving third booster jabs to overcome the perceived problem, and in Europe more than 10 countries have announced similar plans, including France, Belgium, Germany, Sweden and Ireland. Your beloved Boris is still dithering around over a starting a booster programme here.
