Police have arrested two men and charged a third after deputy Labour leader Angela Rayner was subjected to a series of abusive messages including death threats.

Benjamin Iliffe, 36, of Slade Way, Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, has been charged with malicious communications and possession of cannabis, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.

In a statement, GMP also said a 52-year-old man arrested in Halifax, West Yorkshire, on Wednesday has been bailed, while a 70-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of malicious communication relating to abusive emails received on Saturday, Oct 16.

Maybe she'll be more careful with her divisive speeches next time and our overworked police can concentrate on real crime and real victims ... I have missed her though

Divisive and dangerous language you say?

"Boris Johnson tells friends of murdered MP Jo Cox to back Brexit if they want to stop getting death threats"

https://www.businessinsider.com/boris-johnson-tells-mps-deliver-brexit-jo-cox-death-threats-2019-9?r=US&IR=T

A bit stronger than calling someone, who after all has pursued herd immunity whilst enriching his chums, scum.

She's not even got the courage to stand by what she truly believes ... https://news.sky.com/story/angela-rayner-labour-deputy-leader-apologises-unreservedly-for-calling-conservatives-scum-12453576 ... Und of course she's now the victim ... She's everything thats wrong with the Labour Party yet her adherents applaud her, some like Barry even claim the language she used was spot on, he prolly found it "funny"

LOL! Yeah it was quite funny. This was funnier though from the Guardian.

“We cannot get any worse than a bunch of scum, homophobic, racist, misogynistic, absolute vile … banana republic, vile, nasty, Etonian … piece of scum,” she said at the event, before adding that she had “held back a little”.

'Her remarks drew criticism from some Tories, while two shadow cabinet ministers – Lisa Nandy and Ed Miliband – said they would not use the same terms.

Thats the funny bit in Bold. Only "Some" of the Tories criticised her. (lol) Do we assume then that the rest agreed with her? (lol)

The perpetrator has been given a suspended prison sentence. Also made the subject of a two-year restraining order not to contact Rayner directly or indirectly, not to talk about her on social media and not to go to her office in Ashton-under-Lyne in Greater Manchester.

Delivering the sentence, the presiding magistrate, Andrew Riddington, said: “We believe that the offences are so serious that it does cross the custody threshold. It’s so serious because of the psychological harm caused to a public servant.”

Only reason he got a suspended sentence was due to entering a guilty plea and wailing his remorse.

The 70 year old is still in custody for further questioning.

I think it's time MP's consider taking security as since 2016 this country has emboldened some extremely nasty, disturbed and dangerous, individuals.

The trouble is since 2016 a lot of nut jobs and pond life / right wing extremists got involved with politics thanks to Brexit. Its the only language and behavior they understand sadly. I know my old MP who sadly got unseated received similar threats on several occasions and had her windows put through by the local Brexit supporting scumbags just because she was anti Brexit. I think a couple got sent down in the end though.

Hypocrisy lives strong in this one ... This fella found thuggery and violence "funny" during the BLM riots ... He agrees with and uses worse insults than the divisive and hateful language Angela Rayner has apologised for using towards Tories but now he condemns thuggery and violence, well thuggery and violence by supposed Brexit supporters ... He also doesnt comment on political threads anymore ... SFH

Remind me then what these "Vile" things I have said are? Perhaps I had a pop at Farage or Johnson. I suspect I might have said some pretty colourful things about them perhaps because lets face it both of them are vile. So lets have some evidence of my vileness please.

Violence is never funny. Yes on the whole I would agree with that but then I dont consider someone chucking a metal statue of a racist into a harbour violence which is the one and only incident you have constantly referred to because I said it was funny, which it was.

Yes you are right about me finding Farage getting "Shaked" funny, I had forgotten about that one. It was indeed hilarious but hardly what I would call a "Violent Assault". What I would call a violent assault is one of his disciples on his failed walk from Sunderland punching a female protester I know in the face.

Still, lets remind ourselves of happier times.

You should get a job writing for The Brexpress or Mail as your ability to twist the truth or just lie would suit their columns well.

I guess had I been reminded of the vile things I had said I too might have replied with a silly post like that ... When in trouble you can always guarantee the squad will say you lie or bring up their pet hate The Mail ... Violence is never "funny"

Eh, remind you again of the vile things you openly admit to saying about Mr Farage and Mr Johnson??? ... You talk in riddles fella ... Why dont we add to that list some names of other victims of your vile insults like Priti Patel, POTUS Trump, Tim Martin, Brexit voters, populist leaders, Mark Francois blah blah blah ... Your repetitive, never ending vileness is the main reason you have killed your very own forum ... I do believe you found an assault on Mr Farage "funny" n'all and not just BLM criminality ... You find some violence and criminality "funny" and some not so "funny" and one thing dictates which is which for you and thats the political beliefs of those committing the crime ... Hate and hypocrisy lives strong in you Barry

So no examples of my "Vileness" then. Thought not.

Barry I dont have to show examples of your vileness, your on hate autopilot and youve just done it for me ... If that isnt vile I really dont know what is and if assaults remind you of "happier times" you seriously need help

Oh Im sorry! I didnt realise the nation was officially in mourning over this tragic murder of this MP and jokes about Nigel Farage getting Shaked are no longer allowed. I do apologise. Sorry for your loss.

Yes because he wasnt hurt. It was a Milk shake FFS not a baseball bat. He is an odious horrible little racist man so yes I found that both satisfying and very funny and so did millions of others and the many funny videos and comments that followed were brilliant. Had he been battered to death with a baseball bat or beaten up like one of his supporters did to my (female) Friend I would not have found that funny even though it was Farage. I do not like physical violence of any kind but this was not physical violence. It was made even funnier by his outrage at his thuggish bouncer. :D

Barry I dont have to show examples of your vileness, your on hate autopilot and youve just done it for me ... Even while a slaughtered Tory MP lays in a mortuary waiting to be buried you brag about finding a common assault attack on another politician out doing his job "funny" ...

(lol)

Mr Farage was the victim of a common assault while out campaigning, somehow in your world thats "funny"

Christ ... It gets worse ... Not happy enough with finding assault "funny" he now gloats assault is both "satisfying and very funny" ... Jeez ... Theres more, he then dares to hypocritically puke about a politician he hates hes "an odious horrible little racist man" while conveniently forgetting he himself was a voter, campaigner and activist for a party found guilty of racism and led by "an odious horrible little racist man" who is currently suspended from his party for denying racism ... Vile, no double vile ... As for those "millions of others" who found Mr Farages assault "funny" I wonder if he can show just 200 folk out of those "millions" he claims??? ... Bet he cant

Except I never did and still dont believe the racist claptrap about the Labour party or Corbyn yet I have no doubts about Farage and his ilk as being proper old school racists.

I remember when he got "Shaked" social media was alive with people pissing themselves laughing about it, well my social media was (lol)

Stop lying, of course you did ... As for what you believe thankfully thats irrelevant and its as far from the truth as you could possibly get ... You remember when he got assaulted but you cant show any of the "millions" you claim also found assault "very funny" ... When hate consumes your life

SFH

Remind me then what these "Vile" things I have said are? Perhaps I had a pop at Farage or Johnson. I suspect I might have said some pretty colourful things about them perhaps because lets face it both of them are vile. So lets have some evidence of my vileness please.

Im not lying. I said I never did "believe" the claptrap about Labour and still dont. Do you think there has been a poll on whether Farage getting shaked was funny? I dont think there has but given there are millions who despise him and what he stands for and given the huge response on social media with many pissing themselves laughing at this incident I think its fair to say millions supported it. There was even a fund raiser to pay the fine and costs of the "Shaker" culprit which reached its target in a couple of hours with the excess going to a fight racism fund.

So still nothing to back up your "millions" claim??? ... Its fair to say millions of folk "despise" your racist parties ex-leader as the last general election results would more than suggest as you and him got soundly and embarrassingly thrashed, I am one of those who doesnt care for your ex-leader whose currently suspended from your party but I would never find an assault on him "very funny" and I certainly wouldnt find an assault on him "very funny" after the the murder of Jo Cox and Sir David Amess ... You need help
