cjrm1
I have searched on this and other forums about creaking issues with their chassis. I think my symptoms are in line with all the comments I found but I just wanted to check for an expert opinion. I do have double-leaf springs at the rear. We have had the motorhome for about six months and have made several trips. But the creaking noise was not there when we bought it from the dealer. You now just have to put your foot on the step for a creak/groan to manifest itself. As well as walking inside the motorhome I have sprayed WD40/Tufgear around the springs but to no effect. I assume I need to visit a Fiat dealer to get the rear suspension/nylon top hats replaced. If anyone has a different experience or solution don't hesitate to let me know Many thanks in advance
Derek Uzzell
As I’m sure you’ve found out, there is a good deal of online discussion about chassis creaking noises with the ‘top hats’ seemingly being prime suspects https://tinyurl.com/46rdfh7k This was mentioned here in 2018 https://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/ducato-rear-leaf-spring-bushes/49011/ (I vaguely recall it being suggested (years ago) that if the noise was coming from double springs themselves, the two leaves could be forced apart and pieces of silicone sheet put between them.)
