K2 Rum
hello all, Ive managed ( well plastic fatigue helped) to break the internal catch on our Malibu wardrobe door. Its a pushbutton that rotates two rods that swivel and hook on the top and bottom of door. The inside mecanism that rotates the rods has given up and its only held on by two very short screw s to the door. Any idea where I could get spares or a replacement catch? Ive seen Southern in Portsmouth are a supplier but is there an online supplier at all or a recommended dealer? Thanks all
mtravel
I have a Malibu 600DB and agree that this system is quite vulnerable. But I had the same on one Laika so it should be quite standard. Did you ask to your local rep ? Or to write to Malibu-Carthago directly ? They usually reply to questions.
Robinhood
The Hafele push button catch is in widespread use throughout the caravan industry, so I suspect it may be one of those. They do come in different colours, but again, brown is common. So: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303704015970?hash=item46b62b8462:g:6eUAAOSw3stfbRMO (I think most of the units come with the ability to add the rods - as this one does - but don't take it for granted. If different sizes, colours are required, try searching for "Hafele Caravan Push Button".
Derek Uzzell
K2 Rum - 2021-11-08 5:22 PM ... Ive seen Southern in Portsmouth are a supplier but is there an online supplier at all or a recommended dealer? Thanks all I think you mean ”Southdowns Motorhome Centre” as they are based in Portsmouth and have a Malibu dealership. These 'push locks' come in single-sided or double-sided versions, and with or without apertures for the rods. Examples on this advert. https://leisurelines.net/catches--push-locks-142-c.asp As it’s for a wardrobe, it seems likely that you’ll want a single-sided ‘for rods’ lock https://leisurelines.net/brown-button-single-for-rods-push-lock-1333-p.asp This alternatve ebay advert gives dimensions and should allow you to check that you’d be getting the right lock. https://tinyurl.com/csp7wz62

Thanks all Hi All, I have a new Carthago and the catch just bends when cornering and allows the pantry door to slide open. You can pull the door open and see the catch bend when you do it. The hook catch should be made of metal. I am contacting Southdowns Motorhomes and asking for a fix, or new catch. Good luck with your catch hunting.
