CurtainRaiser
And the UK is world beating, sadly not in the right way. The UK’s by far the worst performing G7 economy. Dramatically worse than G7 and OECD averages. The USA’s powering ahead (although Canada has strong household income growth). What distinguishes the UK? Its government. And Brexit. mtravel
I don't know if the economy is stupid or not. What I do know is that tourists aren't.. This is a motorhomers site, remember I said that no one (out of 100,000++ registered users) has asked about the UK for two years ? Of course motorhomers are just a fraction of the flow but... ...since 2019 you have lost roughly 80% of visitors. I leave it to you to understand if the cause is the blighty virus, the brexit or both.

Yet the US has appalling poverty with working people living in cars and vans unable to afford rents or mortgages and their public healthcare system relies on doctors and medical staff setting up random field hospitals, This is an utterly depressing watch but people need to see it and wake up as this is what the Tories want. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlQA3qFzw

Over the three months to September, the British economy grew 1.3 per cent, much lower than experts’ expectations, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS). Worryingly, the ONS revised down their estimates for monthly GDP growth in July and August, causing the third quarter print to come in below expectations. Chancellor Rishi Sunak hailed the GDP figures citing projections by the International Monetary Fund that forecasts the UK “to have the fastest growth in the G7 this year,” he said However, the British economy is still 2.1 per cent smaller compared to its pre-pandemic size. The US economy has already topped its pre-pandemic size, while Britain’s output shortfall is greater than fellow G7 nations Germany, France and Italy. “The UK appears to have reclaimed its status as the G7’s laggard,” Samuel Tombs, chief UK economist at Pantheon Macroeconomics, warned. “Third quarter GDP was 2.1 per cent below its fourth quarter 2019 level, whereas it was 1.4 per cent above its pre-Covid peak in the US and only 0.1 per cent below in France, 1.4 per cent below in Italy and 1.5 per cent below in Germany,” Tombs added. The quarterly clip came in below the Bank of England’s expectations and was much lower than the 5.5 per cent recorded in the second quarter of this year." And as you keep suggesting that UK's 6% growth in 2021 means "Best In Class", it really doesn't. It means "Most Improved In Class", which is the condescending award you give the dim kid for successfully turning up to school for five consecutive days. If you had gone to school you would understand the difference, you might have even got the award.
