Mx5jules38
Hi hope someone can help we had some problems with our front brakes being stuck on when coming and going to the New Year Rally, my hubby has stripped front wheels down and found 1 piston in 1 calliper and 2 in the other calliper stuck out, we have had both calipers reconditioned, replaced hoses, pads and brake fluid but still the brakes do not appear to be releasing enough, my question is there some kind of release that we don’t know about. It’s a Fiat Ducato chassis Autotrail Arapaho twin axle
buddy
Is it possible that there is a vent hole in the master cylinder filler cap that is blocked ?
thebishbus
I don't know if this applies to Ducato master cylinders, but some dual circuit brake master cylinders have internal fluid bypass feedback pin holes that allows fluid back from the calliper / slave cylinders into the master cylinder. If one blocks those brakes will not release properly . I had this problem with the dual circuit master cylinder on my Triumph Gloria. Brian B. witzend
How tight are they can you turn the wheel after applying the brakes do they just scrub a bit or are they really tight. If it where mine I'd give it a run for a mile and see how it is then
Derek Uzzell
It might be useful to know how old Julie's motorhome is, as Auto-Trail has built the Arapaho model (on a Fiat Ducato base with AL-KO twin rear-axle chassis) from 1996 to 2016.
