rooster63
Noticed that when my Eberspacher diesel heater is running there is a ticking noise which varies in frequency. My friend who has years more experience of motorhoming than me says it is the solenoid on the fuel pump clicking on and off and it is perfectly normal. Is he right? Not sure how to delete this post but have found the answer that it is perfectly normal.
spirou
Fuel pump, perfectly normal. Might be loud if not propely mounted on flexible mounts.

Derek Uzzell
rooster63 - 2022-02-14 2:45 PM ...Not sure how to delete this post but have found the answer that it is perfectly normal. Once a posting has been submitted, the poster cannot delete it. As long as the posting is still within the editing 'time window', a possible approach would be to delete the original text in its entirety and replace it with something like "Moderator - please delete this posting". The ticking noise made by the fuel pump of diesel-fuelled heaters has been discussed here in the past and - as has been advised - it's a characteristic of this type of heater. These two earlier forum threads relate to Eberspacher and Truma heater fuel-pump noise, but Webasto heaters are not immune. https://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/Eberspacher-noise/45879/ https://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/Truma-Combi-D6-heater-fuel-pump-noise/50850/ (Forum Moderators can delete postings and threads and I'm happy to delete this thread if you so wish. But as the ticking noise issue has not been mentioned for a while, it will do no harm for the thread to be left in place.)
