Honda EU1000I Petrol generator

Hi,

Any one use a Honda generator like the one mentioned above ?. I have one which when I try to start it, it runs for 10 to 15 seconds then stops, something that as not happened before, at least not after a couple of attempts (adjusting the choke). It has stood for Two to Three months and i Think perhaps a carburettor jet is blocked ?. Anyone know of a PFA drawing download and where a service kit can obtained. The oil, air filter and spark plug have all been changed. along with the fuel. I have the Honda book that came with the genny but only shows external bits and a few Do's and Don'ts .

Cheers Em

I don't know what a PFA drawing is, but there's a Honda EU1000i Owner's Manual .pdf file here

and a GOOGLE-search on "honda eu1000i diagrams" retrieves links to various drawings relating to this generator.

This link should be as good as any

Thankyou Witzend,

Yes, there is a drain pipe off the bottom of the carb bowl. If I undo the drain plug will it drain just the Carb bowl or the fuel tank as well?.

Regards Em.

I'm not sure I only ran enough thru to see if the fuel was contaminated but can't remember it being a problem when bowl was removed 10 yrs ago now.

Just undo the drainer an see how long it runs

Thankyou Witzend,

Yes i did the same to check for contamination in the bowl, but when i changed the fuel completely i tipped it straight out of the tank. On refilling the tank i seem to remember having to pull the starter cord to get the fuel to flow and get rid of any possible air lock.

Regards Em.
