Labby
If you are able to say which make and model of water heater/control is fitted to your Motorhome someone with the same system fitted may be able to advise you about this problem
Derek Uzzell
The October1995 issue of MMM Magazine included a review (by Jonathan Lloyd) of a 1995 Herald Valencia and I still have a (poor-quality monochrome) copy of that article. The Valencia's control-panel was a simple ZIG Marque III unit with switches for lights, water pump and auxiliary circuits. Space heating involved a Carver 3000S convector 'fire' with Truma air circulation to air-outlets in the lounge and shower-room (and, apparently, a 230V Fanmaster 'air blower' was an option). A Carver Cascade 2GE (Gas/Electric) unit provided water heating. I have attached a copy of the Valencia's specification (scanned from the MMM review) but I'm not sure how legible it will be. I'm not familiar with the Carver Cascade unit, but if its control panel is reporting a low-battery/power fault, the first thing to check would be the condition/charge-state of the motorhome's leisure battery. This (70A capacity) battery would normally be housed in the Ford Transit's engine compartment and it was well known that the gauge of Herald cabling was far from generous. The results of a Chrome GOOGLE-search on "carver cascade 2ge problems" can be found here https://www.google.com/search?q=carver+cascade+2ge+problems&oq=carver+cascade+2ge+problems&aqs=chrome..69i57.14122j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 Of course there's no guarantee that a 1995 Valencia's original specification won't have been altered during the last 27 years (eg. by fitting Truma equivalent heating products, uprating the leisure-battery capacity, etc.) The fount of knowledge for Herald motorhomes should be the Compass and Herald Motorhome Club and it might be worth Shaky joining. https://compassandheraldmotorhomeclub.weebly.com/

Derek Uzzell
Regarding a 1995 Herald's electrics, a ZIG X-2 charger/PSU was used and instructions for this can be found here https://autohomes.vwt4camper.info/Zig-X-2_Owners_Manual.pdf I can't find an image (or instructions) for the ZIG Marque III control-panel that was fitted to my own 1996-built Herald Templar, but its peculiar combined leisure-battery-status and fresh-water-tank-contents gauge was mentioned here https://community.smallmotorhome.co.uk/forum/camping-discussions/all-motorhomes/320923-zig-marque-3 The panel's fuses are the glass type https://www.olearymotorhomes.co.uk/zig-control-unit-fuse-10a-3-pack-265-p.asp and the fuse holders were recognised as being fragile. Nowadays, finding a like-for-like replacement for a defective Marque III panel might prove impossible. There is a general ZIG control-panel handbook https://12voltsdc.webs.com/Zig Control Panel Manual PDF.pdf but it doesn't really cover the Marque III 'motorhome' panel.
