andjo
Hi everybody, For anyone who needs to apply for these stickers here are the official websites, the stickers cost €6 each and the websites are available in English. For France.......https://www.certificat-air.gouv.fr/ For Germany......https://www.berlin.de/labo/mobilitaet/kfz-zulassung/feinstaubplakette/shop.86595.en.php There are lots of stories of people paying ridiculous amounts of money for these. Hope this helps. Greetings to all. Andre
Derek Uzzell
For the record, France Crit'Air sticker is currently a bargain 3.70€ per vehicle.

Derek Uzzell
Thanks for the correction, I was looked at the cost for a French-registered vehicle. I thought it was surprisingly cheap! As you've rightly said, for a vehicle registered outside France, the cost is 4.51€ (3.11€ for the Crit'Air sticker + 1.40€ for postage).

We're thinking of travelling through France to get to southern Germany next year. We have an Umwelt sticker on our Motorhome. Question is will we need the Crit'Air sticker if just travelling from Calais, not stopping until we get to Belgium.
Robinhood
..you're unlikely to need one, but, given the price and the fact it is valid for the life of the vehicle (or at least the windscreen 😉 ) it seems sensible to purchase one. The Umwelt Plakette is not recognised in France You would need one for certain cities with low-emissions zones (none on your proposed journeys) or to traverse one of a large number of much more extensive areas when emergency restrictions are in place. AFAIK, again this wouldn't currently affect your proposed journey, but the list of areas is growing. This seems a reasonable summary (though the official French site is more likely to be kept up to date). https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/news/motoring-news/law-change-for-uk-drivers-in-french-cities/
