Deffheads Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 Our Dethleffs windows are locked by a sliding strip with the lock blocks mounted on it, I replaced all the strips on the windows a while ago and now one has split, causing one lock to stay still. Can anyone recommend a supplier of this plastic strip rather than main dealers, They want £14 a metre, which is a ridiculous price.
Derek Uzzell Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 I wasn't aware of the type of window locking mechanism your Dethleffs motorhome has, though it's clear from your photo (copy of latch below) how it functions. There are plenty of online adverts for (relatively inexpensive) flexible plastic strip, but those strips are normally just white and with standard widths and thicknesses. Presumably the locking system is peculiar to the make/model of window Dethleffs was using in 2006 when your motorhome was built - do you know who the manufacturer of the windows is? Although £14 per metre is a lot for a simple piece of plastic, if you want an exact match you may have no alternative to obtaining the strip through a Dethleffs dealership. What did you do when you previously replaced the strips?
rayc Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 I've always found Seals Direct helpful. This is the tool they recommend for fitting their 'Window Rubber Seal (CST5015)' https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165377033439?
