jennet
We are travelling the Route du Napoleon starting at the end of May. Could anyone recommend an inexpensive campsite in the Antibes - Menton area? for a couple of nights. Thanks Jennet
Keith T
Hi Jenny- not sure that the word 'inexpensive' is correct for Antibes area! However, we've been there a couple of times, and there are a number a campsites along the road adjaccent to the Med and the railway line......have a look at the CC Continental Guide and they are listed under Antibes, in the area of Biot. There is a small railway station nearby, where you can catch the train to Menton, Monaco etc. However, last year we stayed at Cannes, and found an excellent site, also listed in the CC Guide, within walking/bus from Cannes itself, or a short walk won to the beach at Cannes La Bocca. The site is listed inder Cannes and called Parc Bellvue, and we had intended staying a night or two, then going along to Antibes for a few more nights there; in the end as we found it so convenient, we stayed 9 nights, site fees very reasonable, and they took Camping cheques at the time we were there (May). We used the bus to get to Antibes, which from memory cost all of €1.5 return, and a similar figure for Nice, although that bus ride was abour an hour and a half. However, we were in no hurry and really enjoyed the fact that someone else was driving, and we could watch the scenery!
