Hughmer Posted May 28, 2007 Share Posted May 28, 2007 It should start with 3 letters then 7 numbers then one letter then 6 numbers. Your local MB agent should be able to tell you what the different parts of the sequence refer to, eg factory where made, year and so on. The number should be on a plate riveted or welded to the chassis or bodywork of your vehicle. On my 412 it is also stamped into the metalwork of the chassis under the front starboard wheel arch. Ian0354 Posted May 29, 2007 Share Posted May 29, 2007 Hi Mike, Like with all chassis numbers you can quote it to a Merc dealer and he will be able to tell you the exact specification ie what factory options were fitted.
