peterjl Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Hi we are heading south in early February and are looking for recommendations for places to stay in Seville and Cordoba. first Seville, we stopped at a camper stop in Seville in Jan 2018. It was easy to walk to Plaza de España but the camper stop itself was best described as very tired/tatty. We did spot another small one that looked to be in the car park of a hotel next to the river but cannot seem to find on internet and, indeed, we can’t remember which camper stop we stayed at! happy to stop at camp sites and there is one at Dos Hermanas but it’s a long way out of town. Soooooo any suggestions, recommendations would be welcome. We have two labradors that will happily settle in the Moho when we go out but it can complicate some stays. turning to Cordoba, we last stayed here more than a dozen years ago. I recall we stayed at a municipal site walking distance from the old town. That site, El Brilliante, seems to be closed now so looking for alternative. I can see some camperstops but it’s difficult to judge what they are like so again any thoughts, recommendations would be much appreciated. Peter
Solwaybuggier Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 For Seville, we used the Dos Hermanos site - it is a fair way out, but there is a good bus service from near the site.
Mickt Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 Try El Rocio ,very different type of place, not far from Seville
rayc Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 For Cordoba we stopped at a Camping la Abolafia at Villafranca de Cordoba. There is a bus service to Cordoba, the bus stop a short walk from the site.
peterjl Posted January 21, 2023 Author Posted January 21, 2023 Thankyou everybody. I have added campsites to draft itinerary albeit not sure if La Albolfia is open as Google shows temporarily closed. peter
Brian Kirby Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 There is an Aire in Cordoba, (found on Camping Car Infos) just across the Guadalquivir via Puente San Rafael, at the junction of Avienda Corregidor and Avienda Menendez Pidal - but it has poor reviews, poor services, and costs €23 per night at current rates! Approx GPS N37.87447 W4.78671. Might be OK for parking on a day trip, but the hourly rate also seems high. Have you tried looking at the ACSI Eurocampings website? There is a limited choice in the area (just 4 sites), none of which take the ACSI discount card.
onecal Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 Hi Peter , Yes La Albolfia is closed and is about 17 miles out. Camping Villasom in Dos Hermanos is open , its about 11Miles out from Seville centre, gets good reviews The Aire parking spot that Brian mentions is quite a large area park with barriers and is within walking distance and is open also
peterjl Posted January 21, 2023 Author Posted January 21, 2023 Thankyou Brian for your thoughtful comments. I had discarded the aire you found because of poor reviews. I am now searching for a site with bus connection. a few minutes ago I found La Campina with excellent reviews, about an hour by bus which is not ideal but I may give that a go. Peter
webby1 Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 We also used Dos Hermanos and El Brilliante. We like our site facilities and "safe parking close to the citycentre " doesn't always sit right with me. I don't think there was another campsite for Cordoba but I seem to remember an aire when we cycled in..............probably the one Brian mentioned. So if I were you...............Dos Hermanos for Seville.Overnight at the aire for Cordoba which I think is only a day visit. El Rocio definitely worth a visit if in the area..................I remember it more than Sevilla or Cordoba......but not during the pilgramage, when they reckon more than 1million people make the trek.
derek500 Posted January 22, 2023 Posted January 22, 2023 For Seville we used the marina Puerto Gelves, on the river, a short bus ride to the city. Cordoba, the expensive one!! But great location to see the city both by day and night.
TRIGGER Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 https://ibb.co/fvnZSqc Vote here for El Rocio we wild camped there recently, lovely town bit far from Seville however but well worth a visit .
