Ducato 2002 door speakers

In an attempt to improve what Fiat (& Rapido) call a radio system, I intend to put some speakers in the doors.

 

I have just brought a pair of grill covers that replace the small door pockets on the Ducato. (£28 for the pair)

 

Any advice before I start hacking into the doors to put in speakers ?

Get speakers with plastic cones, as they won't be affected by the damp atmosphere in the doors, or put Polythene over the rears.

I have dones some investigation and it appears the the door has a pre cut hole where the speaker sits, together with water resistant backing and enough space to get the back of the speaker in.

 

Problem now is finding the easiest way to route the wires to the radio.
