sandalwood
Info needed Portsmouth to CAEN with dog in cabin with us? Vets needed in or near Caen and trustworthy camp sites? All info appreciated. Usually do Brittany, but don’t fancy overnight! We haven’t yet a dog passport and that appears very costly from our vet! Derek Uzzell
Brittany Ferries advice on travelling with pets can be found on this link https://www.brittany-ferries.co.uk/information/pet-travel/onboard-kennels-and-pet-friendly-cabins The two ships that normally operate on the Portsmouth-Caen route are "Normandie" and "Mont-St-Michel" and - if you refer to the SHIPS OVERVIEW section on that link - you'll see that neither of those ships have pet-friendly cabins nor on-board kennels and, consequently, pets must stay in the owner's vehicle. (This may impact on your enquiries about vets near Caen and campsites.)
