Ian Taylor
Hi all,ive got a 2007 HOBBY VAN and the shower wall is looking dull and jaded. Is it possible to rewaterproof it..? I was thinking of a clear silicon paint like u may put on an external wall, any thoughts or experience anyone?
Derek Uzzell
Are you considering over-painting the 'dotted' surfaces evident in this photo?
Globebuster1
If you really think it's necessary, why don't you clad it with lightweight PVC panels or thin Foamex, - I'm sure that would look much better. I don't think painting is a good move, but that will depend on the substrate, what is the current wall covering? Ahh - I see Derek has posted a photo - I would rule out the paint idea! And from a resale point of view, I think a repaint would be very off-putting to a potential buyer.
ColinM50
Agree with Globebuster, painting will affect the resale value as well as looking a bit crap. IMHO lightweight shower panels would be a better solution, just stck over the existing substrate. e.g. https://www.plasticshub.com/products/bathroom-wall-panels/1m-shower-panels/?gclid=Cj0KCQiAi8KfBhCuARIsADp-A54wXKpAQ5z62yycMV2yE1VUJPAsqWmn432NNqz1jCm_ydY3K7HvkvYaAl1TEALw_wcB Though Google has loads
