Mel E
We are just about to leave for the Islands - Islay first stop, so I looked both at Calmac's Hopscotch Fare and their Rover ticket. The Hopscotch savings on normal fares (including savers where applicable) are so tiny it really isn't worth the loss of flexibility. It seems to be about 5% or less. The Rover Ticket is even worse value - unless you want to spend all your time on ferries. There are two - 8 and 15 day tickets - and you'd have to be on a fairly long distance ferry virtually every day to show a saving over normal fares. Spend 3 or 4 days on one island and there's no way you'd show anything but a loss!. Looks like total marketing nonsense to me! Mel E ====

Most people wild camp as sites are few and far between.
