Robnoonie Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Hi All, after some help, I have the below control panel in my 2008 motorhome. This controls all the 12V sockets, lights, water pump you can also see the Leisure battery level. Behind the drivers seat on the floor is the box which the control panel operates Went away in my motorhome this week and when we parked up the display panel would not turn on. The only thing we could use in the motorhome was the plugs and the 240v wall lights. The display panel is still sending a signal to the box as it makes a clicking sound when you try and turn on (like it did before) I'm hopeing it is just a fuse that has blown somewhere but not sure which one and where to find it? Something else I noticed is before I went away the motorhome was plugged into the electrics at home as the fridge was on and when you press the battery button on display panel it says time 'Forever' and when it is only the leisure battery powering the motorhome it says time 200hrs. I noticed it said time was 200hrs even though it was plugged into the mains. Any ideas before I call the experts in?
Keithl Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Start with the basics, do you have a multimeter to measure the leisure battery voltage at the batteries terminals? If not it would be a good investment for a tenner, eg something like this with a 0 - 20 Volt DC scale https://www.screwfix.com/p/lap-ac-dc-digital-multimeter-600v/75337
Robnoonie Posted February 23, 2023 Author Posted February 23, 2023 Hi no i don't I will get one and test it. thanks
Derek Uzzell Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 It's to be hoped that the problem is due to something simple (like a blown fuse) as the "Energy Management System" Autocruise used to fit has no support nowadays. These 2019 and 2020 forum discussions may be of interest https://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/topic/46218-lazy-control-panel/ https://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/topic/50205-autocruise-starspirit-problem/
Robnoonie Posted February 23, 2023 Author Posted February 23, 2023 Thanks for the links Derek. I will have a go at putting a drop of WD40 on the on/off switch behind the panel and see if that helps.
