Hi, I have a problem with my 12 volt system on my  2001 Swift Millenium 2000 590 RS motorhome. It was working fine but when I went to switch on my bathroom light nothing happened. I tried all my other 12 volt fittings and nothing was working. I went straight to the fuses, all OK, checked the 20 volt fuse from the leisure battery OK, the control panel was showing the battery was charged on both the leisure battery and the engine battery. There is a relay fitted into the system just after the fuse box, can this be the problem? I would really appreciate any help anyone could give me on this.

Thanks,

Kevan

Have you checked that the leisure battery negative connection is clean and tight, if it is it could be the EMC (12v shutdown) relay that is faulty, are there any markings or wiring colours on the relay you can see.

Is the fridge working on 12v with the engine running ? if not ,There also should be a block of 3 or 4 fuses near the split charge and fridge relays under the bonnet near the starter battery these also need to be checked (the fridge one in particular)

Hi Labby,

Thanks for the reply to my post it was very much appreciated.

I had worked my through all the above only to discover that it was a fault on my bathroom light fitting which for some reason cut off all the other 12 volt systems, I have no idea why this would happen but it did. I have ordered a new fitting which should rectify the problem.

Once again many Thanks, Kevan
