Robinhood Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 I'm away for a short break on the East coast before the Easter rush. The day before yesterday was mainly cloudy and damp, but yesterday itself was sunny, albeit with a cool breeze. Warm enough to sit out in the sun, though. Overnight was a different matter; clear skies and a sharp frost, and I awoke to a boiler empty of water! It didn't seem particularly cold sleeping, and the water had been left on low heat (but no space heating). The dump valve is close enough to the boiler to get some warmth. I've used vans all year round, at altitude, in snow, above the Arctic Circle, etc. and never had the dump valve dump. Must be something very chilly about Yorkshire at the moment. The effects seem to have been limited to the boiler contents. It was running on electric, and doesn't appear to have tripped any overheat protection ( or it had self-reset), and the elements are still functioning. Might have taken a bit of life out of them running "dry". Space heating on low tonight, though!
