Drop down bed electric motor

Our third bed motor is beginning to struggle and the other two were both fitted by the dealer at Eldiss cost under warranty but since the M/H is now six years old I guess they won't pay/fix it again. Quite happy to buy and fit it myself but the label on the motor is in such tiny writing I can't read it.  Does anybody have any idea of where I can source a motor?

The only markings I can read on it are S/N 00297746; Code 69106285 and Type AOMP140. I know it's an Italian company but when it went previously I tracked their UK agents down to somewhere in Watford but can't for the life of me remember any more details.

Any clues please?

I think this 2018 thread is the most recent forum discussion about your bed's motor

As I understand it, your bed is a Project 2000 product and - way back when - there was indeed a UK Project 2000 agency with a correspondence address in Watford.

Project 2000 is one of the Lippert Group's brands, but I don't know how Project 2000 products are marketed in the UK in 2023.

What I suggest you do is contact this company

Tell them that you need a replacement bed-motor and see what they can advise.

I think Southdown's are now marketing the Project 2000 retro-fit bed products.

Might be worth giving them a call too - they've always come across as really helpful whenever I've contacted them.

Thanks for the advice and pointers chaps. Spoken to Southdowns and they've put me on to an Indie repairer in Fareham and he reckons it's a cabling issue. Says Eldiss and Bailey undersize the cable which causes these issue. Anyway I'm booked in for him to have a look but earliest opportunity is mid June. Just hope it lasts till then

But again, thanks for the suggestions everyone

This Small Motorhome forum discussion may be of interest

https://community.smallmotorhome.co.uk/forum/technical-section/technical-discussion/23640-project-2000-lifting-bed-system

It includes advice (in 2017) from a Project 2000 technician in Italy that many problems stem "from an underspecified electrical feed to the bed lift system".

Whether this impacts on the longevity of the bed's motor is anybody's guess. You've said that your bed's present motor has lasted six years, so even if the power-feed to your bed's lift system is not 'heavy duty', six years ain't bad for a motor that has gained something of a reputation for early failure.
