Wine routes in California

Hi everyone,

My wife and I are contemplating a tour of California in a rented Motorhome, to see the sights and visit some wine distilleries. Does any one have any experience of such a trip - costs routes etc.

I would be most grateful for any assistance in planning our trip

Thanks

Hi Alan,

I did a tour of California by car and staying in lodgings a few years ago, fabulous scenery and facilities, the only place that I felt threatened was Los Angeles, hated the place and couldn't wait to get out.

Two areas stand out for me, the Napa Valley for the wine distilleries and the Monteray Bay area, the drive down the coast from San Francisco to Monteray is really special.

In terms of costs, with the current exchange rate at $2.1 to the £, expect most things to cost around half the price you would pay in the UK.

I have attached a couple of links which you may find useful, have a great trip.
