Guest Stuart
Help please. I've had an accident and torn (beyond repair) the fly screen material in a Seitz window. It's the sort with a concertina blind which pulls up and the fly screen pulls down. How do you go about repairing this?
Guest Derek Uzzell
Caravan dealers often stock fly-screen mesh, but I think you'll find the stuff used on Seitz windows is heavier duty than what's normally available off the shelf. Not certain if Seitz will provide just the mesh, so you may have to buy roller/mesh/pull-down 'handle' as a complete unit. Yours has got to be a common accident and I'm sure any large caravan dealer can advise on the best way forward.
Guest Mel E
Most Seitz blinds are fairly easy to take apart -there are screws holding the front cover in place, usually covered by matching grey screw caps. Remove these, separate the inside carefully, and all manner of repairs are possible - including blinds that have decided to stop retracting properly. Spares are available from places like CAK Tanks and Autocraft in Chesterfield.
