Guest colette wallace
we would welcome any comments on the autocruise range. With especial reference to the Wentworth and the Starfire standard or el.We do not seek to buy new , and wonder how the workmanship stands up to wear and how the engine performs over long distances. Also any other comments that might be relevant to two people seeking to travel long distance in the same May be there are better choices , we are also looking at the Hymer

Guest trigrem
We have an Autocruise Starfire which we have had 12 months from new. Have been impressed with the standard of workmanship. It has the 2.2 HDI peoguet engine and we have just returned from a 6 week trip around Europe covering about 4000 miles, average MPG 30. Guest MRS. SHAW
We bought our new Starfire in Sept.2004 and have since covered approx.3500 miles on journeys both here and abroad. We are extremely pleased with the vehicle,(2.2 engine) and with the fuel consumption. We understand, also, that earlier models were slightly narrower We would have liked a larger capacity fresh water tank. In our previous motorhomes the tank did not have to provide water to flush the toilet as well as the usual water outlets. We did find "topping up" a chore! If this is to be your first motorhome I suggest you widen your search and attend some of the big shows, eg Bath and West in September, to see all the models available to you. Guest colette
many thanks to all of the replies. We intend going to the Malvern Show ,this being the first opportunity to travel around since retiring in May! We have certain criterior that have to be met and one of these is two long settees that can double as singles or a big double bed .We are still interested in any comments. Guest trigrem
Further to the reply from Mrs Shaw, we too would like a bigger fresh water tank, but as regards the flushing of the toilet we did not want to use water from the main tank, so we requested on ordering that we have a toilet with its own flush tank. Autocruise supplied this at no extra charge. We too want two single beds and that is what we use in the Starfire, but it does require the use of the cab seats swivelled. This is no problem as we swivel them anyway to use as feet up loungers. To make it easier I fitted a removable steering wheel.
