Windscreen Replacement

Most insurances provide windscreen replacement with no effect on your NCB and with, usually, only a £60 excess.

Both our current and previous motorhomes have suffered glass cracking within their first year of life, so this is a great boon. (It is illegal to drive with a cracked windscreen).

BE AWARE, however, that, if you buy some huge Carthago or similar, that the w/s replacement can cost up to £4,500 and your policy normally has a £2,000 limit. Cost to you: £2,400 upwards - probably not an issue if you can afford a Carthago/Concorde/whatever!!!

Apparently these limits were introduced several years back when US RV replacements were costing the earth. The insurers plopped in the limit and down went all the replacement prices. Now just who was profiteering there? It certainly wasn't the insurers this time, folks!
