Anyone been? We went about 10 years ago with caravan. Very clean quite pretty country. Very good for water sports (access to all waters so long as you don't come any closes than about 500 yards to a dwelling) and plenty of leisure marinas. In fact plenty of water. You can wild camp anywhere so long as you don't come more than 500 yards etc. you don't ause any damage and you take your waste away with you Very good public transport and cycle paths.Downside? Well it was very expensive. 10 years ago the cheapest bottle of wine on a restaurant meu was £15 and the cheapest bottle of wine to buy was £5. Beer more than 3% very expensive. Eating out in the evening very expensive.£40 for a main meal 10 years ago! Would like to visit Stockholm though. Denmarks prices were more in line with ours.

We have found Sweden to be similar in costs to uk except for eating out and drinks out which are very expensive. You can only buy weak beer in supermarkets. Proper alcohol has to be purchased at the state owned off licence. These shut early Friday to reduce youth boozing and no it doesn't work as they buy it on Thursday instead and make sure it gets drunk. Wine in these shops is not out of line with uk off licence but spirits are amazingly expensive. We took ours with us and when it ran out went without. It does last as with their (effectively) zero limit drink drive laws you can only have a half glass of wine the day before driving. Diesel private cars are virtually unknown in Sweden and so the diesel pumps are sometimes not obviously located. We found this a problem 10 years ago but it was better 2 years ago so it may be ok now. I assume you are going this year. If you are planning next year remember that midsummer is a big deal bank holiday and the camp sites are absolutely full. It is better to get on site 2 days before and then join in the celebrations.
