Hughmer Posted August 8, 2007 Share Posted August 8, 2007 It'll take about a day to drive there from Calais. I can't advise on a hook up. We spend very little time in the van during darkness because we're either in the beer tent which is a lot of fun (or we get the free bus into town), - so we've never needed to charge batteries. If you arrive early and the site isn't open you can find bags of room to camp free on the quay that runs along the Rhine from Messe to the old town. Frankkia Posted August 8, 2007 Share Posted August 8, 2007 Sorry but you are not likely to get a hook up unless you are booked into the disabled area. The Dusseldorf Messe has a permanent camp site which has hook ups but when the M/caravan salon is on the camp area is used for disabled and the site is extended into the rest of the car parking where hook up is not available.
