flyboyprowler
We are considering adding a EcoFlow portable power unit for occasional use on the van. The question is, have any of you used or are using one of these, I would appreciate your thoughts. We would probably use it to power a 12v A/C unit when out in the hot Spanish sun! Also it would be useful for the air fryer without using the vans inverter, but is it up to the job? Hope you are enjoying the sun in the UK!! hja
I guess a lot will depend on what size you buy. We have a River 2 which has a low output but is light weight and small, both of which are considerations in our van. We spend as much time as possible without ehu. OH's lap top needs an ordinary socket for the charger (yes we could get some adaptor or other to use the 12volt) but it also charges the mobility scooter batteries. It charges my phone quicker than using the van sockets. We make sure it is fully charges before we go away. Can charge from 12 volt in the van (we have lots of lithium). The alternative would have ben to get an inverter. But we can also use the ecoflow elsewhere eg in house in power cut - phones & internet, or away from the house. You certainly can get ones that would power an airfryer - you will have to match output to airfryer requirement.
flyboyprowler
Thanks for that. We are thinking of the Delta 2 Pro which should be big enough for most things but seems a bit complicated (being a tech nerd) to get it successfully plumbed in!
MovedUpNorth
Hi, We have the EcoFlow Delta2 and find it a very useful gadget. It has the portable solar panels, but we have configured the motorhome solar panels so that we can divert it to charge the EcoFlow as well when we are away from the van during the day. It is very useful for "fooling" the onboard electrics into thinking it is plugged into the mains and we make use of it then to boil a small travel kettle, charge phone's etc using the normal sockets in the motorhome as we keep the Delta2 in the garage out of the way. At home we use it to charge up phones, drones, work tools etc as the portable panels allow us to move them around the garden such that we can get it recharged very quickly on even a reasonable weather day. We have never yet had to charge it from mains. Hope that helps Mark
Kevjan
Hi can you tell me what size solar panel you use to charge the Delta 2 please. Kevin
Zydeco Joe
Had our Delta 2 for 12 months and it has keep us going off grid for many nights . We got it mainly to charge the electric bikes and also us it to keep the van charged up plus phones lights etc. Have a problem with charging via the Cigarette lighter socket and EcoFlow have so far ignored our emails and phone calls so not happy with them at this point in time. Looks like I might have to purchase a new lead for our next European trip. No bother charging via solar using the 220 panel or 240 volts at home. My research says that the Delta 2 as opposed to the Delta Max is quite noisy when running. Ours will be kept in the garage of the van so hopefully won't be too bad. Do you think this will power a 12v A/C unit. We already have the plumbing in the van and would just need to buy the compressor unit to join up with the pipework. Our solar panels are 1200watt, so presumably that would have to be limited for recharging the unit by solar. Many thanks Ainsley
Kevjan
Hi @flyboyprowler did you mean 120 Watts? It would need a big panel for 1200 Watts. Kevin

Kevin Yes Kevin, should be 220 watt, typo error!! This would therefor not give me any problem and I am heading for the Delta max which is for sale here in Spain for €749 refurbished but unused. Many thanks Ainsley Well I don't think it's that noisy, just a slight noise, but nothing annoying ( to us anyway ). But do have it in the garage. I too am considering hooking it up to the EcoFlow Wave2 but have yet to bite the bullet and buy one, am still on the lookout for a decent test review in real "as in high 20's low 30's temp" situation performance. Yes indeed, a review would be very helpful indeed!
