EC700 showing low battery voltage.

Recommended Posts

EC 700 charging problem.

We had a problem with the EC700 charging system in our Auto Sleeper Symbol when the touch screen kept flashing on without being touched and reporting a low vehicle battery voltage. The voltage reported varied between 0.1v and 12v. Turns out this was due to the 20A fuse fitted in the EM40 fuses box (near Leisure battery) having blown. This fuse is between the vehicle battery and the EC700 control unit. As a result the touch screen was displaying the solar panel voltage not the vehicle battery voltage and was switching on in response to the sudden low voltage. This was solved by replacing the 20A fuse with a 30A fuse at the suggestion of Sargent tech support. This is the same as is now apparently fitted as standard in all new units.

Thank you for taking the time to post this information. I had exactly the same issue and I fixed it according to your advice and now it’s working again. I never would have suspected a fuse and was looking at calibration issues. You saved me a great deal of time. Thank you.
