Dave Newell Posted August 31, 2007 Share Posted August 31, 2007 42 of course (lol) Modern diesels have a hall effect pulse generator on one or more of the rotating parts, camshaft/crankshaft which gives a signal to theECU as well as driving the tacho. I thikn Brambles has answered the why question quite well and I for one have learned something new, always a good thing to learn something new.
