Danny B
When I am filling my fresh water tank from hose, once full instead of overflowing back up the filler tube the residual water escapes from the underside of the van. This has never happened on my previous vans. When I first picked the van up (from new) the dealer did say there had been "a problem" with the water tank but that it was now resolved. Has anyone heard of this before and does it seem reasonable, or should I be concerned? Your comments much appreciated
robin
Danny, Is it possible you have an overflow pipe on your tank?. We had one on the old Bessacar which drained out the top inch of the tank. (I bunged it up and never had a problem - so wasn't sure of its purpose)
robin
Also on our current 'van there is an overflow pipe running through the drain plug that looses about a quarter of the tank's contents when driving. I've bunged this up too. I was told it was some German / EU thing to stop tanks being filled more than 75% - no idea why. This tank has a submersible pump whereas the Bessacarr was a pressurised system - so the pipe on that was more of a breather than an overflow. foxy
Hi Danny, the pipe you refer to is for overflow and air release. I have placed a little manual valve into it, open it when filling then close when full as water tends to escape with the slohing about on the road.
