Gillian Pollard
Hello I am new to here and need help. I recently bought a Peugeot Boxer Autocruise Starfire the pump was working OK until yesterday when I refilled the tank. I turned the pump on and it sounded different to usual then I turned taps on and some water came out. Then it stopped and I found the water/battery gauge was not working and nor was the pump. I found a fuse that had blown and replaced it but it blew again when I put the pump on. So my question is how do I get to the pump as I have no idea how to get to the tank. Secondly does anyone know if there is an overflow if you fill tank right up only water is pouring out underneath after I have been filling tank. The gauge says tank full buy I am beginning to doubt everything. I have lots of paperwork on the camper but cannot get hold of a handbook. Thanks for any help you can hive me as I am hoping to enjoy my late retirement years in the van Gillian. GandJP
Hi Gillian, there certainly should be an overflow to the outside, have had six vans and all have had one and as long as the tap to empty the tank is shut it should be full . I dont know your van but I had a Stardream and the tank was under the floor with a hatch in the floor to access it. I have had to replace two pumps over the years and never had any problems doing that, like for like is my advise. It probably will be in the tank. Do a search on here and you should be able to find some info. I had a problem with mine actually falling off, yes off can you believe, and if yours is the same as mine I attach a photo which shows you my tank and the access. It might be very different of course. Edited July 13 by GandJP add a photo
Derek Uzzell
Welcome to the Out&AboutLive forum, Gillian. It might be useful to know when your Autocruise Starfire was built, but this 2023 forum discussion related to a water-pump problem on a 2001 version. https://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/topic/62970-fresh-water-pump-problem/ I'm not sure how relevant the discussion will be in your case, as it appears that some Autocruise "Star" models have their fresh-water tank inside the motorhome in a cupboard, while others have the tank outside beneath the motorhome's floor.
