Derek Uzzell
Welcome to the Out&AboutLive forums, Brian. This 2018 MotorHomeFacts forum Bessacarr-related discussion may interest you. https://www.motorhomefacts.com/threads/damp-floor-repair-techniques.228498/ Regarding DIY repair, it depends on a person's age, health, skills and inclination to approach a task that they are unfamiliar with or that present risks. George Collings (who used to be MMM Magazine's technical editor) was fond of saying about enquiries on the advisability of carrying out DIY work on motorhomes "My basic rule is that - if someone thinks it necessary to ask - the answer is Don't." There are on-line videos that may help (example here) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgcrC1Hf8Us and a GOOGLE-search on motorhome rotten floor repairs will retrieve a lot more comments/advice. I suggest you begin by contacting a couple of motorhome repair specialists and ask them to inspect the problem, advise you on how they would address it and how much the repair was likely to cost. Then you can perhaps decide whether you want to attempt the repair yourself or have it dealt with professionally.
John52
good link Derek My experience is that by the time you feel the floor getting soft its worse than it looks and a shock when you lift the vinyl and see how far it has spread I wouldn't like to give an estimate either, because as shown in the video if the rot had extended any further under the wall it would be a very big job. Far bigger than the soft patch in the floor suggested.
