robdav
Back again... Our Thule Omnistor 6200 has just started slipping when it's being wound in. It does still wind in but slips a few times almost like a cog has worn or broken and seems to be getting worse. I haven't looked inside it yet, just thought I'd ask and see if anyone else has experienced this. Thanks Rob
onecal
Hi Rob This can happen , try first of all winding it out fully and then winding it in, making sure it winds in even Regards
Solwaybuggier
It happened on our first van, an Autotrail. From memory, it was the gears. We got it fixed by Rose Awnings while we were at a show - might be worth contacting them?
robdav
Thanks. Has anyone taking one of these gear mechanisms apart? It seems ridiculous to use plastic cogs if that's what they are?
Derek Uzzell
Nevertheless, on-line advice is that the gears are plastic...

robdav
Thanks for the input. The winder completely failed on us with the awning out at a campsite! Managed to get the old winder/gears off, manually wound the awning in with a pair of monkey grips and replace failed gears to hold it in place. Have now replaced with a new set and it's working fine. Will endeavour to take apart the old gears at a later date and update here.
