Clemmo
I’m looking to buy a new 2024 Roller Team Zefiro with Ford cab. Internet searches show historic damp problems. Have they been resolved ? thanks Clemmo
Derek Uzzell
Welcome to the Out&AboutLive forums, Clemmo. Although there are online complaints about damp problems with Roller Team motorhomes, I don't think these relate to models built in (say) the last 4 years. I can't see how any forum-member will be able to factually answer your "Have they been resolved ?" question. To do this would mean having an in-depth knowledge of the cause and extent of the Roller Team-related damp problems in the past, what (if anything!) and when Roller Team made changes to address those problems and how successful those changes were - and I'm sure nobody here has that sort of information. If a Zefiro model is of particular interest to you, I suggest you interrogate several Roller Team dealers, tell them you are keen to buy a Zefiro but are concerned about owner complaints about damp problems with Roller Team motorhomes and ask them what measures the company has taken to 'damp proof' current models. If the dealers can convince you that the risk is minimal of a new Zefiro 2024 developing damp problems during your ownership, you buy one, or, if the dealers cannot convince you, you buy something else. Steve928
Rollerteam seem to be building using the same methods and materials as they were using when I was researching my van purchase 4 years ago i.e. closed-cell XPS insulation throughout, GRP skins inside and out, wood-free. There is (in respect of the main construction i.e. floor, walls, roof) therefore nothing that can be affected by damp - as long as we take damp to mean moisture in the structure of the van. Clearly any motorhome can suffer a leak but if none of the materials transmit, hold, or are damaged by moisture then it's just a leak, which you fix. I was only shopping for GRP-skinned vans but at that time Rollerteam and Mobilvetta were the only 2 brands I could find of that essentially damp-proof construction.
