clive74
Evening all, first post. I've had caravans for the last 20 years. My current van has Alde heating, the radiators in the bedroom are low affairs near to the floor on the walls. I have been looking to go and see a 2011 Autocruise Oakmont 3L. It has Alde heating but appears to have standard looking domestic radiators in the bedroom, has anyone come across this before? Or do you think someone has put these in instead?. Keithl
Is it the one for sale at Highbridge? Either way the one they show a video of has those same radiators either side of the bed!

Derek Uzzell
Alde heating systems for caravans/motorhomes normally have space-saving finned aluminium convector radiators at floor level as shown here However, the photos in the postings above certainly show radiators resembling the ordinary 'domestic' type and I don't recall these appearing in the Alde catalogue. Swift Group (that subsumed Autocruise in 2008) clearly chose to fit what look like domestic radiators in the bedroom of Oakmont models with Alde heating - Keith's photos (and other online Oakmont photos) prove this. Whether those bulky radiators came from Alde or B&Q is anybody's guess, but, as all Alde-equipped Oakmonts have them, it can safely be said that they were fitted when the motorhomes were built rather than being retrofitted later. And to prove this, see bedroom photo in this 2008 Oakmont review https://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/userfiles/file/MMM historic road tests/AutocruiseOakmontLivein.pdf
