bounty hunter
Bit more information required. Travel Insurance Your age, how long is your trip, any medical conditions to declare Breakdown insurance Some insurance companies include it and some you can add it. I have Lifesure breakdown cover for an 8.8m long, 3.6m high 6.5 tonne van which costs £125 per annum for UK & Europe and it worked perfectly in Germany last year when clutch disintegrated John
Brian Kirby
As above, but consider changing bank account. Several "banks" provide travel and breakdown insurance packaged with their accounts (albeit there is a fee on the accounts, but often still good overall good value) which runs for the duration you hold the account - and not just the time you are away. For example Nationwide's Flex Plus account,
rayc
You don't always get what you think you have paid for. Check carefully that repatriation for the vehicle and persons is included in the event the vehicle is beyond local repair, or no available driver due to illness or accident etc.. I can personally recommend the Caravan & Motorhome Club Motoring and Personal European insurance. They were fantastic when my wife fell off her bike in southern France. They have their own officers who take control etc. Many insurers use an agency. Not the cheapest but believe me when the chips are down you are not worrying about the premium cost.
malc d
We had very good service from the Camping and Caravan Club when we broke down in Spain some years ago. Fortunately didn't need to use their medical insurance services. Have a good trip.

I assume this is Red Pennant. We always used to use this when travelling abroad. Over a considerable number of years had to call on it for a couple of medical issues - finding an english speaking doctor for OH, dealing with son's broken elbow when we got the hospital bill on return home, and a couple of mechanical issues. Couldnt fault them.
