BruceM
In case any users (like myself) who use the Nationwide FlexPlus account for breakdown recovery etc have missed the announcement, Nationwide have increased the cost of the account from 1st December to £215 per year – an increase of just under 38.5%. I’ll have to run the numbers to see if the elements of the account cover we use still make it worthwhile us retaining. GandJP
I use them and thanks for the advance warning of an increase. I assume that will happen at the end of my year and not immediately but not heard anything from them as yet. I expect I will continue with them anyway. Brian Kirby
The price rise takes place on 1/12/24. Whether the account remains a worthwhile expense at £18 per month (£216 per year) will depend on the extent to which one takes advantage of it's packaged insurances, and what it would cost to buy these elsewhere. A further consideration is notifiable health conditions and/or extended trip durations which require upgrades, and their cost.
laimeduck
Their travel insurance has also changed to Aviva and the trip insurance is now not per annum but per trip. However there is no additional payment for being over 70. So as Brian says you need to look at all the components. Still good for us I think
Brian Kirby
True, Jeremy - I'd missed that bit although, now being vanless, I don't think there is much chance of us being away for more than 31 days. 😢 On the plus side, I note that once advised, the pre-existing conditions upgrades remain, as before, valid for 12 months from the date on which they are declared - always assuming, of course, that the additional premium/s is/are acceptable.😟
GandJP
I had my letter today but still think we will stay at least for the time being and will look at others another time.
