Well Charlie they're my tenners and I'll dispose of them however I see fit! (lol) CM was happy as it gave her the night off (lol) (lol) .

We drove down to York yesterday via a customers place (I had to tweak a recalcitrant cruise control but its all sorted now :-) ). Good run down although it did get windy during the afternoon.

Tomo, you'll be very pleased to hear it p!$$ed down in the night and its still dropping as a steady drizzle, I have heard its supposed to dry up and be nice this weekend, I hope that's true.

And last night we watched even more TV!

Dave, thanks for your regular updates. It' just like we are there with you! Good news about the weather! I hope you all enjoy your week-end and don't even think about me being in writhing agony here!

(lol)

I am using my time constrctively planning for a tour to France and Italy next year so I can get my own back then, that and mentally designing the "perfect van!

CM was over the moon to have a night off but I soon got her tied to the cooker again when we got back to the 'van.

Tomo, I really do feel for you as earlier in the year I suffered about three months of total agony with a prolapsed disc in my lower back. Thankfully its gradually improved and I'm now getting about much better and not needing the constant supply of pain killers. Just before we left home on Monday I got my appointment through for physio next Tuesday, not bad considering I saw the speshurlist way back in June (I think it was). Chin up mate it will get better but I know it can be hard to believe that when you're in agony. Just to cheer you up a bit more though it stopped raining a couple of hours ago and we've even had some sunshine this afternoon :-D .

I simply plugged the phone into the lappy with a USB cable. There are 3g cards available from some of the phone companies but unless you're going to use it a lot I'd say they are too expensive. Mine's a Nokia 6300 which comes with the connection software and cable.

I use a similar system to Dave except that I have a Nokia 6230i so can use Bluetooth rather than a data cable for connection. That also means I can use it with a PDA as alternative if I don't want to take the laptop with me.

I used it initially on Vodafone but then obtained a T Mobile SIM card when they introduced the £1 a day capped charge.

Vodafone then introduced a similar deal so now I don't bother changing the SIM card unless I can't obtain a signal.

Both services normally work well. The PDA tends to be better restricted to e-mail rather than surfing use though, because of the smaller screen size.
