creature_concepts
Got a bit of a dilema. We are over in the uk to do a camper trip around the uk and europe and have just purchased a Fiat Ducato 2.5TD 1988 Autohomes Clubman. It has done 91000 miles and I have been told that I should be looking at replacing the cam belt. Unfortunately there is no history of when this was last done, so it is better to be safe than sorry. My problem is that as of this Sunday the 23rd the van is our accomodation, and at the moment, everyone I talk to is saying that they cannot organise and fit the cam belt by then. The van was originally a f reg. I would feel alot more comfortable if I could get this fixed before I leave or if not in the first few days of my trip. I am starting from London and heading north through Cambridge. Does anyone have any suggestions or mechanics I could contact. Thanks ;-)

W3526602
Hi, My local back street bloke charged me about £40 including the belt to do my 1998 Ducato. I say back street, but he is very well equped. But when I asked him to do my 1990 LR Discovery, he refused, saying it was the devil's own job to get them right. That cost me the best part of £200 at a LR specialist.
