Eberspacher fan matrix

Can anyone tell me what the 4 wires that go into the Eberspacher fan matrix on the 12volt side, actually do?
The colours are Black(2), Black/Red & Orange.

Is this a warm air heater fed by a Hydronic heater or what?

The "fan matrix" will be the thing I have arrowed in red in the photo below that Mike provided in the March/April forum thread about his 2005 Autocruise Starburst''s Eberspacher Combitronic heating system.

There are installation instructions in the .pdf file below, but the wiring diagrams may not exactly match the wiring of Mike's 2005 system.

I have the wiring diagrams which show the 4 wires and their colour but not what they do.
