I've got my 22 Chausson booked in for a habi check next week along with a damage repair. TBH I booked it in for the repair and the dealer sort of added on the habi check which of course I'll be paying for while I wasn't really paying attention.

So my Q is what will they do and is it worth having done. I know I should ask the dealer and will do on the day but thought I'd ask the experts first

The UK Chausson warranty terms and conditions are summarised here

https://www.tcmotorhomes.com/motorhome-maintenance/

In 2015 I bought a Rapido 640F motorhome from a UK Rapido dealership. Approaching 12 months of ownership I telephoned that dealership to book the vehicle in for the mandatory annual damp-check and was told that they would need to have  the motorhome for 2 days and the cost would be over £200.

"Hang on" I said, "I'm not looking for a 'habitation service', I just want the mandatory damp-check carried out and that should not take very long and not cost much." "You must have a full habitation service carried out at 12-months and 24-months, otherwise the Chausson warranty will be voided", said the receptionist. "That's not correct", I replied "There's nothing saying that in the warranty documentation". "That's what I've been told to tell Rapido buyers", said the receptionist "And I have been telling Rapido owners this for years." "OK", I said "But that doesn't mean it's correct."

I then got in touch with a contact (Anthony Pfaff) at the Rapido factory at Mayenne and explained the situation. He said, "Of course the Rapido warranty does not demand habitation servicing, French buyers would not tolerate it. Who did you speak at xxxxx dealership?" A couple of days later I had a phone call from the dealership's receptionist saying that the Rapido factory had telephoned them and told them (in no uncertain terms) that Rapido did not insist that habitation servicing be carried out during a Rapido motorhome's warranty period - so they were happy to book my vehicle in for a damp-check  whenever I wanted and the work would only take an hour.

It's commonplace for UK motorhome manufacturers to include habitation servicing as a mandatory part of the habitation warranty. But that's often (usually?) not the case for motorhomes built outside the UK, even though UK motorhome dealerships marketing those brands might claim otherwise.

I've no issue with motorhome owners having habitation servicing done, whether or not the warranty insists on this. But it would be sensible to closely check  the warranty documentation to confirm whether this servicing is mandatory or just a dealership recommendation.
