Puzzled
Hi Anyone out there with experience of large holding tank for Toilet as against the more popular casette type. How and where do people empty these tanks.
Vixters other half
Our Niesmann has holding tanks 150ltr grey and 150 ltr black water. There is a 3" hose connection at the rear near side with slide valve and cap. each tank has its own pneumatically operated discharge slide valve. To empty the tanks, drive to and park near the motorhome service point, connect the flexible hose to the 3" outlet and put the other end into the service point drain ( Usually a porcelian trough) Open the outlet slide valve and then select the black water tank and open. Once the black water has emptied repeat with the grey. Once both tanks are cleared rinse out the hose and return to the carrier. Hose down the drain and replace the cover. No mess no fuss and job done in under 5 minutes. The large bore pipe allows for rapid discharge encouraging the evacuation of solids and paper etc. Having had cassettes in the past I much prefer holding tanks - this set up is good enough for two of us for two weeks. Hope this answers your questions Rgds VoH
