fred22
Hi we have recently changed our van and have inherited a set of silver screens and, to put it mildly, they are filthy. I have read other threads on screens and noted the remarks about the actual material discolouring but, I don't think this is the problem. Has any one tried to give them a good clean? If we cannot improve them we are going to dicard them so willing to try anything. Will they disintigrate if we put them in a cool wash in the washing machine? Any one had a go???? Guest caraprof
If it were me I'd start by laying it down on the lawn and mopping it thoroughly with warm water and a detergent solution. I'm sure that this will do no harm and may even get it clean for you.
Globetrotter
I wouldnt put them through a washer. Use something like Lidl's W5 kitchen cleaner (In a spray bottle.) I find this an excellent multipurpose cleaner and degreaser. (Mr Muscle etc should do the same job but for twice the price!!) Good luck.
fred22
Hi thanks for suggestions. Been to Lidl's, couldn't find a W5 Kitchen Cleaner in or out of spray bottle. I bought W5 All Purpose Cleaner, a yellow fluid in a 1litre bottle, to be diluted before use. Is this the correct one? Fred
StAubyns
Hi Fred I think its the W5 Bathroom Mousse that you need. But I bet what you have will work regards Geoff
docted
Try a corner first to ensure that you do not damage the material with the cleaning agent.!
Globetrotter
Sorry Fred-their Kitchen Cleaner has been rebranded as W5 Degreaser-it's the same stuff though. However, the stuff you bought should be fine if diluted as per the instructions. Good luck.
