Just because he has been lucky doesn't mean you will be and a cambelt failure is expensive to repair, especially if you're away in Spain on holiday when it goes. Earlier this year I had to do this on my wifes car and even doing the work myself it cost over £300 for parts and head work (head gasket set, timing belt and tensioner, 7 new valves, head skim and pressure test, alternator belt, anti freeze) plus the vehicle was effectively VOR for several days. Corky 8 Posted October 26, 2007 Author Share Posted October 26, 2007 Hi Brambles, I,m only getting two names made and it comes in at just over £15, you can choose the style of the letters plus colour and outline or Shadow,I didn,t think it was that expensive but if you know somewhere as good and cheaper,please point the way, I,m the same as you got to go easy on the funds being retired ,(not because I wanted to ),and changing back over from a caravan to a M/H I have a shopping list the length of my arm to get, External Silver Screens to start with then Reversing Camera (so wifey isnt stood in the rain ) well thats what I swung it with, then the ambiguous Sat Nav, for europe ( hopefully ), Ive never looked on Fun forum but I will, Regards Corky Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Corky 8 Posted October 26, 2007 Author Share Posted October 26, 2007 Thanks for the input Davenewell@home ,I shall put the whole issue of Cam Belt change in the capable hands of the garage I use for my Car,a VW specialist (independent ) who I have delt with since my move up here to Bonny Scotland, and who gives a great deal on all his work, and good on the advice too, plus I,m taking out a further two years warranty on the M/H from Discover (Barrons) so I,m hoping to be covered for a while for breakdowns etc ,Regular servicing aswell should keep me on the move, Thanks again Regards Corky Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have seen Ebay listings and other adverts fo signs making companies will take a shifty. I also have a local company that make up all sorts of signs so will have a word with them again. They were expensive when I last asked them but maybe I can push for a lower price. Believe in using local firms where I can because I expect local firms to use me for certain services. Jon.
