brayn
I have followed the discussions about gizmos for measuring the gas in a cylinder, none of them sound up to much! Does anyone know how heavy an empty 13 Kg propane cylinder is? All I need to do then is weigh my cylinder, subtract the empty weight and divide the answer by 13 to get the fraction of fullness left. brayn
I've just been on the Calor site and it says that the weight in pounds and ounces is on the aluminium tag attached to the shroud. On mine, this says 32 02, does this sound right?
Brian Kirby
A steel 13Kg cylinder is approximately 15Kg empty weight.
puerto
hi, all makes of cyllinder have the empty weight either stamped on the ally tag around the neck or actually stamped on the body its self. you are quite right in what you are saying, take the empty weight from the stamp then add the weight of a full load of gas. i.e 13kg or 6kg etc which ever you have, when its full it will obviously weigh the full total of both combined, so you can quite easily judge how much is roughly remaining in a used tank by measuring the weight of the gas inside i.e if you have a 13 kg tank and after the weight is 6.5 kg heavier than the stated weight on the tag, then it has half of a tank remaining, if that makes sense... 8-)
