Mel E
Did anyone see the Newspaper item (Business News) a couple of days' ago? US Economists have come up with 'the Winnebago Index'. They spotted that both of the last two major US economic downturns (both also reflected over here), were forecast by sales of Winnebagos 8 to 12 months ahead. Sales so far this year are 7.5% down, with a disastrous 27% slump this September cf last year. Why Winnebagos? It is the most discretionary purchase in the US - who needs one? Who can't put it off for a year or so? So sales plummet at the first sign of hatch battening. Sad, but is the bankcruptcy of the Belgian owner of Lunar a sign of the same in Europe?
