w1ntersun
Hi, I start my next trip 28 Dec till 11 April 2008 I have a bad back ( declareable ) as I take pain killers. Medical insurance is virtually impossible as I am away more than 90 days. If I try a back packers policy I can get cover for £51 if I don,t declare. So if I claim for a heart attack say, they still won,t pay out because of non declaration Question Do you bother with cover ? Risking it with only the EHIC card and no repatriation. Do any of you guys or gals know where I can get reasonable cover for eg saga quoted me £351 for 90 days only Richard
nomad
Hi w1ntersun, Have you tried the Motorhome Ticket Club? tel Mon-Fri 8am-8pm 0808 100 3016. I believe they do 180 cover for non existing problems. Enjoy your trip Colin
Bill Ord
Try MCIA at Peterborough, they advertise in MMM and you can always Google to find their phone number. I'm using them at the moment with a declared medical condition and have cover for myself and wife for £80.The declared condition is not covered. There are restrictions on length of trip etc. but these can be adjusted. I suggest you give them a call, they may be able to help. Really the only way is to make lots of enquiries and find what meets your needs there are companies that will insure most risks but it becomes a question of cost versus risk in the end. Ukase
Try Able2travel tel:0870 750 6711. They specialise in cover for those with pre-existing medical conditions. They will require you to complete a medical questionaire on-line or by post and then quote for full medical cover. My parents who both have medical conditions (Heart and Diabetes) are covered for European Annual Travel Insurance for an annual premium of £250. Wirralian
Last year I had a good deal from Ensure'ngo (or something like that) via MCIA. Tried them again this year and when they found that I am now over 65 they quoted a hefty price and limited cover. When I queried this and compared my previous year's cover they checked the records and said that they had me down as being 55 yrs! I put the phone down quick incase thay asked me for last year's balance! Good job that I made no claim otherwise it would have been invalidated. I ended up getting an annual cover for 180 days from the Camping and Caravanning Club for £200 for myself and wife (under 65).
