Lancaster Uni monitor the sun's activity and will send you alerts if there is any likelihood of a sighting - often seen in Scotland - or so I'm told. Their funding is under threat and are appealing for support http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Physics-Funding/ being a cynic I'm not convinced that it does any good - but at least we can stand up and be counted. it seems to be part of the continuing dumbing down that happens in the UK B-)
Basil
Hmmm, thats interesting that they are losing their funding. If I were a cynic,or conspiricy theorist, I might make the link between that and them going up against the 'Global Warming Theory' causing climate change, as they are one of the bodies that suggest it is Solar activity causing it!!
